Work takes up a huge part of our lives. You spend the bulk of your week there for most of your adult life. So it’s safe to say that you need to be happy where you are. You need to have a job that makes you feel content and that fills you will confidence. But not only that, you do also have to make sure that it contributes to your lifestyle overall. You’ll never want your job to be an issue. It shouldn’t cause you stress or have a detrimental effect on your health. So make sure that you have a bottle of water on your desk at all times.

When you’re busy, it can be so easy to just grab a convenient lunch. And when you do this, you won’t always make the healthiest choices. Whether you realize it or not, when you choose to have unhealthy things, then it’s going to impact on your energy and productivity levels in the afternoons. So to make sure that you feel your best, make healthy lunches with proteins, fruits, and veggies at home, then take them into work.

It’s easy to think that you need to work through and get something done, but you’ll exhaust yourself if you do. Especially if you’re looking at a screen all day. So not only do you need to take regular breaks for your eyes, you’ll want to get checked for prescription glasses too. Or update your prescription regular if you already use them. Breaks, in general, will help you to get a bit more energy for the next bout of work.

It’s also healthy for you to have work friends. Health is holistic. It’s not just mental health and physical health, but it’s emotional health too. So make sure that you’re interacting with others and building relationships too.

And finally, you have to make sure that you’re able to let things go when you walk out of the door. These days, so many jobs expect you to be ‘on’ and available 24/7. And that’s okay if you can handle it, but if it’s stressing you out and damaging your health, you need to have boundaries. Burnout is real.
