6 SIMPLE IDEAS TO MAKE YOUR HOME COSIER

A cosy home is a home you feel like you can really relax in – but is your home giving you cosy vibes, or is it making you feel cold and restless? Making your home cosy doesn’t have to be difficult, and that’s why we’ve put together 6 simple ideas you can use to make your home cosier. If your home just isn’t giving you those inviting vibes right now, take a look and see what you can do to create a more cosy place:

ADD LEAFY GREEN PLANTS

Big, leafy green plants added to your decor could be just what you’ve been missing to create the cosy home of your dreams. They help to bring the outdoors in, make us happier just by looking at them according to science, bring amazing texture to a space, and even purify the air. What more could you want? Including multiple plants in any room in your home is always a good idea – just make sure you feel confident maintaining them. If not, you can always purchase realistic looking fake plants, although you won’t be able to enjoy the same health benefits.

USE THE RIGHT ACCESSORIES TO CREATE A COSY ATMOSPHERE

There are lots of accessories you can bring into your home to create a cosy atmosphere. For example; fairy lights, candles, incense sticks, warm light bulbs, etc. Know what will create a lovely atmosphere in your home and use it.

MAKE IT NICE AND WARM

A warm home is always a cosy home. If you live in a fairly warm climate, this could mean simply making your place look warmer with plenty of texture, rather than actually upping the temperature. However, if you want to go the extra mile, things like underfloor heating can make your home cosier in the morning when you head to the kitchen to make your coffee and forget to put your slippers on. Adding plenty of cushions and throws will make your home appear cosier in moments.

CREATE YOUR VERY OWN READING NOOK

A reading nook is the perfect place to curl up with a hot drink and a good book. All you need is a big comfortable chair, some natural light, and perhaps a plant that we discussed earlier. It should be in a quiet space where you won’t be disturbed, too.

MIX UP YOUR FURNITURE AND OTHER DECOR

Mixing up your furniture, cushions, textures, and other items can help to bring more personality into your decor. Giving your interior more character will make it feel like a more homely, cosy place in an instant.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THINGS THAT YOU LOVE

Finally, surround yourself with things you love! Whether this is a picture your child made for you, a souvenir you picked up off a trip, or something else, display these items in a way that will add to your decor. You want to avoid having visual clutter, but at the same time you should include pieces that will make you feel warm and fuzzy inside when you look at them!
